Chorus in the Winter

A cross-disciplinary semester project by Qingyu Zhang

This is a soundscape mapping project about the migration of rooks in Vienna, which were traced and recorded over several days in the peak winter month of January.

When I close my eyes, it is the time to map the world with a sharp sense of hearing. Listen to the soundscape to map the space and time and feel the migration shift. Observe the vibrant nature by listening to sounds, empathize with the emotion in crow vocalization and search for the signs of life every hour, every minute, and every second.
