Between the Lines: The Fortune of the Rabbit

A project created in the course of the exhibition:
Distant Echoes: Experiences of Living Away from Home by Marcus Kautz

Red hues reflect off the modern, cold glass facades of Shanghai's skyscrapers, heralding the Year of the Rabbit, a year of fortune. Chinese society resumes its old pace, rushing through the streets, across squares, and through parks.

This photo series documents fleeting moments of happiness. These moments are rare and remain the dream of a new generation that desires to be more than just a zero or one. Created during a year abroad in China, the series explores the art of adaptation within a complex social, cultural, and political system.
