In her project sex work - lock down. Collected fragments from a world that is often made invisible, GCSD student Helena Lea Manhartsberger deals with the topic of sex work in times of Corona in Austria. Together with her protagonists, she deals with the challenges of the current situation and the strategies that people in this industry have found to get through the pandemic. Sex workers, operators, customers, social workers, and activists share their experiences and give diverse insights into the topic. Intimate portraits, images of places and objects as well as interviews give an impression of this challenging time, marked by lockdowns, distance rules and occupational bans, for the most bodily of all activities.
The exhibition runs until 8th December at Reich für die Insel in Innsbruck:
Tuesday: 9 am – 4 pm
Thursday: 3 pm – 7pm
Further visits possible on request.
